The Christmas Marked in Egersund began in 2003 when it gained recognition from a small article in Dagens Næringsliv (The Norwegian business newspaper) that wrote about the success of this small town’s market, in German style. Soon Sparebank was interested in funding the annual event and it has grown every year more and more.
Today, thousands of local tourist flock to Egersund for this event and it has been hailed as one of the most popular events of the year for Rogaland. Given its early beginnings, come and see for yourself! Even if you do not have a car, it is possible to take the train to Egersund directly from Stavanger every hour and when you arrive in Egersund, you are only 300 metres away from the centre of the market!
