Skiing Season has begun!

3 ski resorts in the area so you can start skiing during evenings, weekends and holidays!

One of the benefits of living in Stavanger is that you do not have to travel very far to get into the mountains. Only 1.5 hours and you are in a great area for both cross-country skiing and downhill. Only 3.5 hours away and you are in Røldal, where there is on average, the most amount of snowfall in Norway!

Sirdal
Transportation is easy to Sirdal, even if you do not have a car. There is a bus that has departures from the central bus station in Stavanger, Sandnes and Ålgård on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Departures and arrivals on Saturday and Sunday as well. The excellent part about the Snøbussen is that for Nok500 you get a bus and ski pass.

Ski equipment is available for rent as well! Whether it be cross-country or alpine, you can try out cross-country skiing and alpine. Lessons are also available at Ålsheia Ski Resort, the alpine ski resort in the Sirdal area.

Røldal
Røldal is 3.5 hours away in Hordaland county. It is a major destination for those from Stavanger and Bergen and is known for its excellent quality of powder snow. There is a hotel there near the ski centre and Røldal Camping where you can rent cabins privately.
There is only public transportation from Haugesund. From Stavanger you will have to find your own way. For more information, lift tickets and current conditions, please visit the website www.roldal.com
Sauda
The ski boat to Sauda is already underway! This ski boat is an amazing experience. Nowhere else can you take a boat to the ski lifts! Departures from Stavanger are at 08.00 SHARP, meeting latest at 07.40. Bookings from Stavanger must be ordered by Friday at 19.00 latest online only. The price of the ticket is Nok550,- and includes boat, bus, and lift pass. Click HERE for more information and tickets!

Brekko
For decent cross-country skiing in the vicinity, Brekko offers great tracks and is located just 40 minute drive away from Stavanger. You only need to pay for parking!
