Meet America's Political Photographer

Morris is one of the world’s most well-known war photographers, having covered invasions of Panama and Iraq, the narcotic war in Columbia and the war in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Somalia and the former Yugoslavia before he came come to cover stories about American politics. As one of the only press photographers to get up close to President George W.Bush and for the next six years he was in what he called the “Republican bubble” strongly characterised by nationalism and patriotism. The compilations form his book My America.

Morris will be in Stavanger for the first time to present his book which will be distributed in January 2012. A piece of refined political photography close to the president who is burdened by expectations : Barack Obama’s America. The discussion will be presented by Harald Birkevold.
